This Cosmopolitan adds a modern twist to the classic cocktail. The Cherry Blossom Elixir lends incredible smoothness to this favorite and is simply delicious.
Every time you read “modern twist” or “fresh start”, you might think of the desecration of a classic. While sometimes things can go really wrong, we’re quite confident that this version of your favorite vodka classic is going to make you go “wow”, and in a good way! The Cosmopolitan is definitely one of the most well-known cocktails. Ask anyone who’s not a cocktail aficionado, the first cocktail that would come to mind it’s The Cosmo. If Ella Fitzgerald IS the jazz singer, the Cosmopolitan is nearly that fundamental.
This cocktail would be what Kir Royale is for the French (check out our takes on that with Lavender and Rose Elixir) or a Negroni for an Italian (we have our own spin spiced up with Rose Hip Elixir). And it’s making a comeback in a big way!
The Cherry Blossom Elixir is the essence of springtime for us. Who can resist the magnificent view of those gorgeous Japanese Cherry Blossom trees and sakura blossoms? Imagine that gorgeousness in your cocktail! Our all natural Cherry Blossom Elixir creates a perfect blend with vodka paired with citrusy and tart flavors. (remember, that’s a bedrock of your Cosmo!). We used fresh lemon juice instead of a triple sec since we wanted the flavors of cherry blossoms to shine, and feel free to use old-school cranberry juice like Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice. Joaquín Simó himself has approved it, who are we to argue with him?
Cherry Blossom Cosmo Nr. 2 Ingredients:
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce Cherry Blossom Elixir
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce cranberry juice
Shake ingredients in ice-filled tumbler and pour into Martini glass. Garnish with lemon zest.
